We had just one afternoon and night in Rome – we couldn’t have chosen better than to spend it on a bike tour with Simone! We booked a private tour, so it was just the two of us, and Simone spent at least 4 hours showing us around, telling us about Rome’s ancient and more modern history. He is knowledgeable and PASSIONATE about the city, and he doesn’t sugar-coat his opinions. We were able to see way more of the city than we would have on our own, and even the parts we had seen he added to with interesting description and stories. We were lucky to find him – he gets booked up fast so try to reserve early.

Fantastic tour!

This was a really memorable tour. The guide, Lorenzo, is incredibly knowledgeable, but laid back at the same time, and sets a really nice pace on good bike. By night, it’s a totally different experience of Roma – cooler, quieter with fewer cars and people, and of course, the monuments are lit up and almost glow in the dark. We saw a number of famous spots, including Campo di Fiori, Piazza Farnese, Capitoline Hill, the Coliseum and the Roman Forum. Riding along Circus Maximus with only our bike headlights to light our way was a thrilling moment, as I imagined the chariot races that took place on the very same circuit. But it’s riding through all the little side streets and alleyways – places I would never go – that was really special. We crossed the Tiber river to the hip area of Trastevere, had a beer in an authentic Roman café, visited a beautiful church, and admired the river by night. If you can ride a bike, this could be the best four hours you spend in Rome at night! And please give a fair tip – the guides deserve it! Grazie mille e complimenti Lorenzo.

Night Tour Roma

We made this night tour on our second day in Roma. I think it will be the best to make this trip at the beginning of your trip. Because you will see so many nice things which you would like to join later alone / with your family / friends and so you will get a small impression of Rome – which you can extend. The night tour was really nice – with all the lights in the city and the small streets and the lovely places Simone has taken us to. I ate the best ice cream – and it was not from Giolitti. The guys are nice, funny and they act attending to your wishes (concerning the route for the trip). Rome by bike was the best decision we could make – it is much easier, not as exhausting as to go by feet and you can reach more things in less time. Highly recommended!

Best bike tour!!

The night time tour was a great way to see the city… read more

This bike tour was a highlight on our visit to Rome. Lorenzo and Simone were great guides. We felt very safe riding around the busy city with them. They know so much about Rome’s history we learnt a lot along the way and got to see parts of the city we never could have discovered on our own. We ended up doing 2 tours. The night time tour was a great way to see the city and the Saturday ride to the Appian Way showed us some of the country. I would highly recommend going on one of these tours. You won’t regret it.
